The microspectrophotometer, among the most useful physics laboratory equipment’s, is the combination of two devices, a spectrometer, and a photometer. The spectrometer is used for generating light of any chosen wavelength or color as a photometer is used for measuring the intensity of light.

Both devices are placed at both sides of a cuvette filled with a liquid. Spectrometer produces the light of the desired wavelength and it passes through the tube and reaches photometer that measures its intensity. Then the photometer generates a voltage signal to a screen device, usually a galvanometer.
